It's been a slow day at work, and I've been hitting my F5

It's been a slow day at work, I wish that Kovy would just sign

But when he gets close to Lou, Bettman sees what they do

And rejects it all day

You know I work all day but don't accomplish a damned thing

And it'd be worth it if Kovy would sign and win us a bunch of rings

I'd have no reason to moan, the Devils would pwn

And I'd feel OK

It's been a long day at work, and I've been ripping out my hair

It's been a long day at work, I think I soiled my underwear

Because without Kovalchuk, I think we'll be out of luck

And won't dump Rolston, oooowwwwww!

Did some one say Nirvana?

In my eyes it's not over. Give me back my Kovalchuk! Give me back my Kovalchuk!Give me back my Kovalchuk!

Last song on Black Shining Leather

I'm not that big of a Carpathian Forest fan, although I think I have Black Shining Leather lying around somewhere. That said, is there anything funnier on this planet than Vrangsinn?

To the tune of Pink Floyd's "See Emily Play"

Bettman tries but misunderstands, ah ooh

He's often inclined to reject somebody's contract till tomorrow

There is no other day

Lou's gonna try it another way

Rolston’s gonna have to go away

Playoff games for May

See Kovy play

Soon after puck drop Kovy scores, ah ooh

Skating past D-men as if they were trees leaves them in sorrow

There is no other day

Lou's gonna try it another way

Rolston’s gonna have to go away

Playoff games for May

See Kovy play

Skating around he never touches the ground, ah ooh

Float down a ice forever and ever, Kovy, Kovy

There is no other day

Lou's try it another way

Rolston’s gonna have to go away

Playoff games for May

See Kovy play

Unfortunately some of our younger posters won't know this song, but the older ones should.

Funny you ask, It was never released as part of an album in England at the time (1967-68) it was released in the UK as a single.(later though as part of "best of album" etc)

It was however released on the album Piper at the Gates of Dawn in the US.

Good stuff CF.

Do you guys honestly think that he is more likely to sign on the 17th than on any other day? I know it's his favorite number and all that, but at the end of the day this is a business decision and Lou is a business man. There is a lot more at stake than Kovy's number (ie, season ticket sales).

i think he's more likely to sign on the 17th than on any given day. i don't think he's more likely to sign on the 17th than the entire range of days between the 18th and the end of the month, if that makes any sense.

both lou and ilya have shown number-related superstition.

So that's the way I'd write if I was you. :urg:

I'm still in favor of going after Bobby Ryan. He'd take less money then Kovy and would be just as productive. Plus we could look at snagging another defenseman like a Marc-Andre or Stall. Or another goalie since Price is still on the market. The Devs have all this Kovy money left over and a ton of options guys. Why waste it on one player when you can get two-three great players that will help the team for years to come?

August 17th

Tomorrow I will wake up (if I sleep) and say Kovalchuk 17 times.

I will hold myself to visit this thread only 17 times. I will google Kovalchuk 17 times.

Around 17:17 pm I will be drinking kool-aid with some russian vodka to celebrate.

THAT'S a goooood girl there! :clap2:

yeah, yer right, it aint like Lou is superstitious or nothin. Who's #13 again?

If Ilya asked Lou to wait til the 17th, he'd wait. Wouldn't want to look back to 8/16/10 in ten years w/o the cup and say "Why didn't I wait 1 more day?"

I'm going to see what Kovy's mom has to say about that rumor. boogie.gif

No, would rather pay Kovy, and not lose Draft picks
