CRASHER
So we're sitting here watching the Devils game after I told Jamie all about the hate on here for that commerical and how awful it is on Thursday....the commercial hits and she starts yelling "fvck YOU FOR POINTING OUT HOW GODDAMN HORRIBLE THIS COMMERCIAL IS ......AND fvck THEIR fvckING BURGERS TOO!!!!" I actually now feel better about the spot now that I passed the irritation on to someone else
mfitz804
Who watches commercials anymore? I watch all games on DVR and skip through them all. Of course, I have to stay off this site until I catch up with the live broadcast, which doesn't always happen.
DevilMinder
That kinda kills it Fitz... It wouldn't be so bad if MSG can only seem to line up 5 sponsors for our broadcasts. Twice a break sometimes we see them. The local ads (Dont ever buy one biz owners) seem to only play for 2 seconds and skip.
RunninWithTheDevil
I think it's just the sheer amount of douche-chillery in one commercial that makes it astonishing

Twice a break sometimes we see them. The local ads (Dont ever buy one biz owners) seem to only play for 2 seconds and skip. Have to agree with this sentiment. I DVR every thing else I watch on TV and skip the commercials, but I don't do it with sporting events. The only time I DVR a game and don't start watching as soon as it begins, is if I'm going to miss part of the game for whatever reason. I just think that it kills the fun of it to watch a sporting event on delay. Part of the fun is seeing things as they happen and riding the emotional rollercoaster provided by that. This is especially so because it's pretty damn hard to avoid finding out how the game is going when you're not watching, whether it's via a friend's text, facebook, the NHL app, etc. I always end up seeing something when I don't want to and that kills the fun of watching the part of the game I missed. Jerrydevil
marketing today is not about informing customers about your product, it's about getting something stuck in the customers head so they remember your product. It's kind of sad but hey I guess it works. Heck, I remember TV advertising from 30 to 35 years ago. Crazy Eddie and "beautiful Mount Airy Lodge." Both aren't around anymore, but I still remember the spots.

Also miss the ads for that restaurant that Daneyko once owned (maybe he still owns it?) near the Meadowlands back in the day. The name of the place is on the tip of my tongue. You're thinking of Mezzanote DM. My parents took me there for my 18th birthday. My mom knew one of the hostesses, and she got me an autographed picture of Dano, which he inscribed to me wishing me a happy birthday. Still have it framed and hanging up in my apartment. Jerrydevil
A good commercial is powerful. Twenty years from now, you'll be at the dinner table singing to yourself, "Chicken parm, you taste so good."

That's it!!! lol thanks! I remember going there once with my family in the mid to late 90's (like 96-99 range). It was just alright, wasn't bad but didn't think it was anything special. You have to be really careful to avoid finding out details of what happened, but if you can, its the same up and down emotionally. I am almost never ready to sit down and watch a game at 7:00, so I really don't have much of a choice. Last night, I watched the game live and experienced the "douche-chillery" of this commercial for myself. Its annoying but when you think about it, a lot of commercials are. I've eaten there, they are what they are...a step above fast food, a step below actual food.
