In fairness, it's hard nowadays to put together a team as dreadful as those early Devils teams. Yeah, with the exception of that 10-29-2 start to the '10-'11 season and the slow start to '05-'06, this is about as rotten of a stretch as I can remember.

Think we could pay Bob Uecker to do our play-by-play in his Harry Doyle character?

Nice ceremony. Love that the fonts were 100% accurate on the alumni jerseys. Nice to see Patrik too. And that "RockyDevils" McMullen logo really fit in perfectly.

Event was nicely done. I was in with Richer, McKay, Chico, Driver, and Dano. I got to announce McKay out into the room which was awesome. I'll follow with pics later...

Yeah I'd love to know about all these good players the Devils are trading away. Larsson was mentioned. They traded Matteau and Gelinas - neither of those guys have become NHL regulars. Other than that, they've mostly traded away soon to be unrestricted free agents.

The Cory muff really sent the curses flying. If anything, at least Hynes has finally figured out that you can actually switch goalies in-game. That's the first time I've truly been furious with Cory. I'm also starting to accept that this is simply not going to be his year. I think he can bounce back next year, but sometimes good players have bad seasons. I thought Cory would turn it around eventually...not anymore. You know how the Devils didn't score there Ken? BECAUSE THEY'RE THE fvckING DEVILS!

That I agree with, I would have liked to buy the patch and maybe a puck or shirt with that logo on it. They definitely blew their chances on that.

Who's become better exactly? Larsson? He's got a marginal skillset to begin with, he's a stay-at-home masher. If anything the one area the Devils have been good at is trading.

I kinda dislike players that get these big contracts and then coast it appears when they get married, have kids, etc. Motivation, Drive, and Proving yourself appear to be with the youth of the league. When NBA legend coach Pat Riley talked about preparation and motivation of the team talent he was correct in dealing with players and prepping for games.

You could probably fetch a small fortune for Cory right now, though trading him would clearly send a certain message about this season. The Rock would be half empty for the rest of the year.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun getting to announce one of my all time favorite players! I only saw the poster too. They gave me an extra pin when I exited the event and into the arena. Really was hoping for a patch. 6 months from now I'm sure the Den will be stocked.

I was in the same room, good job! I saw some people go into the other room as well. Some people feel they are just special and above the rules. Amazing. I only saw the poster, did you see anything else?

Disappointed in the lack of merch available for sale. They definitely dropped the ball. Buuut....the poster is really nice. I have an extra if anyone wants it.

So weird wearing a white jersey to the game, I haven't worn one to a game since the league switched.
