Triumph
I actually agree with that.... unless we can get guys to sign a 1 year deal (unlikely in this environment) why not wait for next years crop? because next year's crop will be the same thing, only MORE expensive that's why you sign a player like colin white to an 18 million dollar/6 year deal. or why overpaying for stuart isn't so bad - because stuart's analogue down the road will be paid even more. devilsadvoc8
Too much for too long. We would kill Lou if that is what he gave him to stay. Rafi is a good d-man not great. GL to him.
HellOnICE
Agree with most of what's being said. Simply too much/too long for the Devils, and great deal for Brian. GOOD LUCK BRIAN!
Default
Hopefully Lou opens up his wallet or we might as well be the Lowell Devils. But I do agree with passing on this contract. GO OUT AND GET DRURY!

DevilMinder
My Devils calendar has Brian as the Player of the month for July. What timing.
jkrdevil
I don't blame Lou for not matching Detroit's offer, I blame him for not making a preemptive move to sign Raf to begin with (or even broaching it) when the opportunity was clearly there.I also blame him for pis-ing away Oduya for a year a barely above the league minimum for no apparent reason when he didn't have Raf signed. UnderDogX
Last year for my birthday (July 2nd) i got Elias signing....this year abso-fvking-lutely nothing... I do think if there was a rule book that said "how not to get attendance at a new arena" this would be the number one rule!!!
RowdyFan42
Lou probably figures enough tickets have been sold for next year that he doesn't have to try to get anyone to show up.

Jerrydevil
I'll raise my hand on that one...I know he's wrong most of the time but for some reason I had a bad feeling when I read his article this morning.
LizDevil30
I laughed it off when I read it because it was him. But, man, the blind squirrel found a nut. I am just stunned today. What a tough road ahead for NJ. I can't wait to hear what Marty and the other players have to say about Black Sunday.
DRafalski
Funny how one move (Schneider) created what I feel was the only situation that he would've left the Devils for.
DevilMinder
I was thinking about you when I heard he went to Detroit DRafalski. Its all goes back to Nieds in the end.

mikepopowich
well, brian gone, gomez to the rangers. i mean i'm not as upset about us losing him as i am to the blue shirts. whatever, they paid him well, and rafalski too. i don't blame lou for not giving that kind of money. we need some changes, but i wasn't expecting all these moves so quick. briere to the flyers! man, we better do something. maybe someone who can hit, but also score.
