pattyelias
Just got home. Lot of disappointed Devs fans at the game. raggot fans acted insulted that an opposing fanbase showed up in their building and then celebrated this win as if it would last a lifetime. That building is so damn corny. I always get a kick out of asking raggot fans who was the captain of the 1940 team. i like what butch goring said tonight in regards to the goalie equipment. hopefully the devils can find their game soon. they played great in the third. what did goring say? Zubie#8
although i hate losing to tht fvcking team i really cant be mad..devils outplayed the rags for all but 3 mins in the gm. The bottomline is tht henrik stole the show some postives tht came from this gm was tht elias looked good and he'll get better next gm, zubbie is still playing great, mottau was amazing in the offensive zone (still sucks in d zone tho), and kovalchuk stepping up and beating the sh!t out of avery really told everyone that he is apart of this team...i hav a feeling we'll begin our winning ways at philly Edited February 7, 2010 by Zubie#
Jerrydevil
Kovalchuk staying on the ice for as long as he did on the PP bugged me. I'm not pinning the loss on him or anything but it bugged me.
losdiablos103
We need to wake the fvck up! Mottau had a lot of point shots tonight, wtf is up with that? Rolston is a fvcking waste of space. Can't blame Marty for all 3 goals, but the 3rd was soft as sh!t. fvck Avery that motherfvcking piece of fvcking sh!t, starting sh!t with Kovy and then goes into the fvcking turtle! ++++
LizDevil30
The Devs have been sucking for weeks now. Marty hasn't been playing his A game either. How they won last night was a miracle on ice. Lemaire couldn't even explain it. Tonight was sadly typical 2010 Devils hockey. They have to right the ship. I think they will. I think Kovy will make an impact, but it won't happen overnight. BTW his name is Kovalchook. Not chuck! It's a Russian name. They don't chuck in Russian, they chook! I checked out the Russian spelling and it has "y" whick is oo in Russian. Hey 4 years of studying Russian makes me picky like that. But seems like no one gets it right and I guess Kovy doesn't care?
mackchi
Frustrating game but you can tell we're still not totally on the same page with Kovalchuk yet. Defense was too sloppy and missed some key pass blocks. Offense is almost there and when it clicks I think the floodgates will open. Hopefully at Philly. I must say that Rolston is dragging us down. He looks so slow and listless. Maybe he has the flu. The turning point in the game for me was when the Devs had the 5 on 3 PP and Rolston could not keep the puck in the zone. That just seemed to puncture the balloon. I really thought we would score first and keep the momentum going. But it went the other way. Also Lundquist made some nice glove saves tonight. The only goal he gave up was on the stick side. Also did anyone see that somewhat delayed hit on Kovy by Del Zotto? How does a 19 yr old rookie get away with that with no one else ringing his bell? Oh well Buffalo lost as did the Sens and the Penguins so only the stupid Rags gained a little. Nice to see the Zube line scoring. Once they start getting in synch with each other they will be very scary.

Maybe he has the flu. lol, if that's the case it's a two-year virus. He's BEEN slow and listless ever since he came here, other than his one little spasm earlier this year where he actually had some life with Elias centering him. Sutter leaned on him, Lemaire's left him alone and neither's worked so what the heck do we do with him now aside from maybe getting a big-time center (since that's the only hope you have of getting anything out of him)? nyrsuck26
As disappointing as this was, the devils did not play awful tonight. They just lost it for about five minute in the 2nd, and (this is gonna hurt to say)... Lundqvist played very well. Hopefully the can put together a complete effort Monday and Wednesday (with me in attendance ) against Philly.

You just can't do anything with him. What would really make me sick is if that fvcking contract was the difference in not signing Kovy. I think it can work if we can figure out a way for SOMEONE to take him off our hands, even if we have to give another team something to do it...a la Malakhov. I don't know if he's lost the will to fight, if Minny was just a good spot for him, or it's last contract syndrome, but he's not even the guy he was for us before we traded him for Claude. that guy didn't score much either, but he busted his ass out there. at least Sutter pissed him off and he played a decent fourth line game in the playoffs relative to his ice-time. couldn't score in a whorehouse, but he played to a +

Oy, I'd love for Lou to work his magic and put Rolston in a hat and NOT pull him back out this offseason. He's scored a few goals this year, but it just seems like they've all been inconsequential. I hate how he's so shaky with the puck. He can never seem to hold it in at the point. He takes too long to set up his shots and seems to think that he can just shoot through the defender standing directly in front of him. 5-on-5 he's nearly invisible. When we're healthy I just don't see how he's a top 6 player on this team (in fact, I doubt he is even with injuries) and that's way too much salary for a 3rd liner/crappy PP "specialist". I was starting to not mind him as much earlier this year, but his limitations are just so painful to watch, and he's the killer of all offensive zone plays. Mike441
just got hom from the game after going out with some friends... was in 314 BTW that was Bruuuu-Tal man. in the first we were really taking it to them in the first 10 ten minutes. After they killed the 5-3 then retard niedmeyer took the penality i knew it was gonna get worse...and that it did. marty didnt play very good tonight and got beat by henrik, who really was on his game tonight. Rolston is now my most hated player on this team...him and niedmeyer. Guy took like 4 shots when a defender was standing right in front of him. Kovy cant be fighting like that at the end of a game. LOL at the Ranger fans celebrating like this was a fvcking cup win.

Devs4LIFE
IDK if this had be touched upon earlier in this thread but as far as our pp goes, it's clear that we try and get the puck to Kovalchuk way too often so I think it would be better if we had Kovie down low on the PP this way when he does get the puck he can try and fire one off quickly ( ) and actually get a shot on net. I'd like to see him in the circle too, but I guess the problem with that is who else plays. you need a C, and then you need the halfboards player. he could play with Zajac-Parise, with Parise on the boards, but really, he'd probably be better off with his linemates, Zubrus at C and Patty on the boards.... so you'd have Parise on the second PP. maybe he plays on the point on the first unit and slides down on the second? Niaure
Actually it was great game and we were even better than rags, but Lundqvist won the game for them. You can do nothing against the team, were G plays like that... Marty won games for us in the past, so sometimes we need to accept the fact, that it was done against us. But we played really well and had a lot of chances
Sickman
I'll give the swiss miss some credit for making some timely saves but his performance in this game was a little over hyped the same way Brodeur's performance in the last game was. I don't think the Devils made his time in the crease anywhere as difficult as it should have been. Lemaire has mentioned it recently that this team is not showing enough energy. I have to agree with him. He has made some questionable decisions for sure but I really don't think he has had the luxury of working with a fully committed lineup these last couple of weeks. They were struggling prior to the trade and now they are trying to incorporate a completely new element into their game. I really think people have to just relax and ride this out. Brodeur hasn't been horrible but he is also not in razor sharp form. That happens to every goalie. If he were, most of us wouldn't even be complaining about the team because he would be covering up their mistakes. So the Devils lost. Big deal. The Rangers basically won this game based on 3 minutes of brain dead play. I'm not trying to take anything away from them but they really didn't play all that well. They did nothing in this game that blew you away. In fact, with lesser goal tending, they probably lose to be honest. Its going to take some time for Kovalchuk to mesh. But when he does, watch out. HellOnICE
I will say though, I do like Kovy standing up for Marty. He'll know better next time, and next time we play them we'll have a different lineup yet again...so the way Kovy HATES the Rangers is perfect for us.
