Exactly, nothing like celebrating a goal to find out it was offsides 90 seconds ago and had absolutely no outcome on the actual play. That offsides challenge should absolutely be nullified if the team challenging touches the puck once before it goes in the net.

We won't know until this offseason of course, but I get the feeling if Toffoli can't get more than a three-year offer from anyone else, Fitz will be open to re-signing him, and Toffoli will be open to coming back. I actually like the "puck over the glass" rule because it is Binary. Either it hit the glass or it didn't. Don't put the refs in a position where they have to make a judgement call if someone did it intentionally or not. They can't read minds.

In my opinion it's stupid to give any tribute to Toffoli. Dude was here for less than a season. Fine player, and I was on record not wanting to trade him, but his contributions in the grand scheme and history of this team are as insignificant as could be. With that said, it's almost a guarantee he scores against us. Let's Go Devils.

I absolutely hate the puck over the glass as a penalty rule. It should be treated as an icing, no line changes allowed for the team that throws the puck out.

I also thought he would be a core player for the Devils. But it really is a testament to how far this organization has come. Objectively, there wasn't too much to suggest that Santini was going to be a successful NHLer, but compared to what we were used to at the time, he looked really solid.

‘96 was rough because in addition to coming off a Cup win, all the Devils had to do was beat the Senators AT HOME and they were in. They even had a 2-1 lead in that game before losing 5-2. Given the expectations, this season is a rotten one, but at least this team has been dead for weeks. That ‘96 team led us on right through being up 2-1 in that final game. re: trading this year’s first-round pick, I’m obviously not opposed to it, but at the same time, Devils are absolutely going to need some cheap ELC players in the near future. Something to keep in mind.

Jerome Iginla’s son Tij is someone I’d be interested in. Most seem to have him projected as middle of the 1st round though.
