There might be fans who go out of their way to blame the goalie, but we’re fast approaching the other side of that coin lol. Goalies have to make *some* of the tough saves.

But you also can’t give all of these opportunities to one of the better teams in the league.

Yeah his inability to make a big save continues to be a big problem, for the most part.

Blackwood stopped Ovechkin on a breakaway early on in the game. He's being hung out to try in this 2nd period.  Plain and simple the guys in front of him have played like complete sh!t tonight.  Big reversal from the last 3 games.

Literally more than a half dozen guys standing in front of Blackwood on that last goal.  He might as well have turned around and faced the glass, because his visibility would've been the same.

Exactly. The only way he had a chance was if it hit him. He had a better chance on the Ovi goal.

Hughes having a very poor start to the season. I think last season got to his head. He think he’s Wayne Gretzky when he’s out there sometimes. Keep it Fkn simple

What a dumb take. He’s not some 4th line plug. His creativity is a huge part of his game. The last thing I want to see from Jack Hughes is “simple.”

The Caps have done an excellent job not giving him any space. Other guys need to step up when there’s so much focus on one player.

As Bill Parcells once said “We’re not ready to win yet.  We’re too stupid.”

Can’t wait until Seves is gone.  He just can’t help but do something careless and costly.

Big fail today.  Too much same ol same ol.  Get ‘em tomorrow.

That’s correct.

“Simple” isn’t really his game.

Is the argument “He made one good save in the first period, he doesn’t need to make one of the 4 possible big saves in the second period”?

Because I disagree.

Severson is a bad defenseman, plain and simple. He needs to be purged the way we purged Smith and Zacha. I’d like to put him on the 4th line until he’s out of here.

So on the bright side, Holtz should draw back in next game, right?

I hope so.  This PP needs some life and a sharp shooter. Tampa, Colorado, Washington, Boston.... there are too many teams with good Powerplays that we should be emulating and I think Holtz can play a part in that. Let's give it a chance at least.  It definitely can't be worse than what we're doing right now.

Well, it’s only 6 games in, but goddamn if The Bad News Bears was a hockey team…

It's just an ugly game overall.

the team is taking lots of dumb penalties. They are not capitalizing on their powerplay and chances. Pretty sloppy execution overall and goaltending could be better. Bad team effort. Let's try to finish strong at least and regroup for tomorrow.

Can't we just agree with this rather than having scapegoat tug-o-wars ? lol
