Where’s valiquette to say how well the rangers played and that they deserved the win but they just didn’t get breaks. Suck on that fat L AHL Steve.

I don't think even he can spin that turnover-fest by the Rangers. Maybe he'll say the Rangers were shorthanded on defense?

I think @Muevelos may have been right.

Injury prone, but hey, good when healthy.

The dude is more fragile than Scots single ply toilet paper after a night Of binge drinking capped off by Taco Bell.

If he’d ever stay healthy for more than a month straight, he’d be better than good, but holy sh!t, drink a glass of milk and maybe do a stretch once in a while.

Big ups to Vanecek coming in to right the ship amid a lot of question marks heading in to the season - towards the top half of the league to boot.

He's really been better than that...it's a handful of games that are dragging down his overall body of work.  Someone who hasn't been watching him much would assume he's largely been average or a little bit above, but in reality he's had two Vezina-worthy 15-game heaters, and about 9 games or so where he's struggled or simply wasn't as good.  So basically 80% of the time this year he's been more or less light's out.  I'll take it.

Good point, there's an upper level to his game which rivals the top-flight goalies in the league.

At their best, Vezina caliber goalies like Ulmark and Sorokin have 97.1% and 97.6% save percentages respectively in their top 15 games. VV is on that doorstep with a 95.4%.

Going to 30 games it's still tight with Ulmark: .950 | Sorokin .953 | VV .930

Consistency is where Ulmark separates himself from the pack, see their worst 15 games: Ulmark: .910 | Sorokin: .870 | VV: .847

_____

Advanced stats or even the traditional SV% / GAA say VV is bang on average in the league - a massive upgrade over what we had last year and an accomplishment in it's own right. But I'd agree that the eye test and a breakdown of the stats put him higher than that.

Schmid has also been excellent in his starts, averaging 92.9% in his full game efforts and a 93% overall. It's a small sample size, and his AHL numbers are concerning, but if he can continue his development it's a great 1A 1B tandem - neither being truly elite but both being more than competent to backstop a playoff bound team.

Pasta makes it 4-1. Rags are reeling. The broadcast is already talking about what if Kane doesn’t work. I love it.

Seriously fvck that franchise and their stupid fans.  Did they really think Kane was enough to close the gap between them and the Bruins?

Lafreniere with a garbage time goal.  Congrats pal.

Kane is a -4 so far as a Ranger aaaaaaaaah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Remember that time when EVERYONE said “the Rangers need a defender” and get their fans blew their —— when they got Kane instead saying they could just outscore everyone? That was neat.
