nessus
I'm actually pretty excited to see what Mamashev can bring. Although his last season wasn't very impressive as far as points go, he was the highest scoring (points and assists) defenseman in the KHL during the 2012-2013 season with 42 points in 52 games. He could be a useful player for us. Does anybody know more about him? http://en.khl.ru/stat/leaders/222/
Mike Brown
Tryout on defense, has played in the KHL his entire career Ah cool thanks. Is there any good scouting report on him? ThreeCups
Everyone's thoughts on Kaberle making the club? I have a buddy that is persistent he will make it....I don't see it happening I would think going into camp the top 6 will consist of Salvador, Greene, Zidlicky, Merrill, Larsson and Gelinas We also have Harrold who always seems to be "in the mix" and Severson who will be looking to make a name for himself... EDIT: Apparently Mike Komisarek will be in camp too Edited September 15, 2014 by ThreeCups

EDIT: Apparently Mike Komisarek will be in camp too someone posted that both Kaberle and fedotenko's agents reached out to Lou for the tryout, so it's not like Lou actively pursued these guys. It could just be a favor to give them one last chance at an nhl job.
DJ Eco
I wouldn't doubt Mamashev, Kaberle or Komisarek being better than Salvador. He must be the most worried; he's the captain of the damn team and honestly, looked like the team's worst d-man last year. I'm curious how he looks in camp with all this competition being bussed in all of a sudden, not to mention the kids. I would rather have almost ANY half capable player in Sal's place, but I feel like he is going to be on the team no matter what.... I would find it hard to believe that Kaberle along with a few other guys aren't better than him.....

Triumph
I'm really curious to see these preseason games, that's for sure. I'm curious about Mamchev - is he really going to retire or take a year off from hockey for his wife? Really odd story there - I wonder why he couldn't talk the Islanders into giving him a shot. Either way, it will be interesting to see people like Gomez, Fedotenko, Tootoo, and Kaberle in a Devils uniform. Komisarek, no, it won't be - that guy cannot make the team. Komisarek is that player where you can just see Lou and Pete saying, "veteran defenseman, came into camp without any promises and just worked his butt off. Good lockeroom guy, physical presence, bla bla bla bla." If he wants to start the year in the AHL, he's probably got a spot there. But, I agree. He better not play a regular season game here.
