There’s obviously a league-wide conspiracy in favor of the Devils.

Some of the officiating has been infuriating, but as much as it's made me crazy at times, it's an issue throughout the league.

Just to repeat what's happened of late, the Devils were losing to sh!tty teams, then beat Nashville in Nashville breaking the longest winning streak in the NHL this season, beat Vegas 8-3 in Vegas when no one had even beat them by four at home previously, and then shut out the Kings in L.A.

Okay then.

Yet sportsnet power rankings last week had us at like #19. fvcking idiots.

Ah right...I was just thinking in terms cause the Blues and Kings are both in the mix for a playoff spot and we beat the Kings it came up somewhere before :P

I mean, you're taking a shot at a phantom Devils poster here. I don't think anyone thought there's an actual conspiracy, but getting bounces isn't the same as getting the calls. It's not like the calls are all going the Devils way now. The officiating wasn't great tonight either if you ask me and the NHL definitely has some reevaluating to do during the offseason when it comes to replay, rules, officials, etc.

Nico with 7 goals and 8 assists in his last 16 GP (and that includes a five-game pointless streak).  Can't be happier with this kid's first season in the NHL.  As much as he's always held his own (even though he gets pushed around in some games), it's even more impressive that he's found ways to be more productive in these oh-so-important games down the stretch.  Kid has a legit shot at 20 goals and over 50 points.  Just a terrific rookie season.

Seguin had 22 pts in his first season in 74 games. He got 67 the year after that. Nico could legit crack 70-75 points next season, and who knows after that, it can only go up.

Btw, it hasn't been acknowledged for a bit but the Devils currently sit at 13th in the league in goals for. Monumental steps up from previous years. We're finally out of the scoring doldrums:

2017-18: 13th, 215 goals (through 71 games)

2016-17: 28th, 183 goals

2015-16: 30th, 184 goals

2014-15: 28th, 181 goals

2013-14: 27th, 197 goals

2012-13: 28th, 112 goals (lockout shortened season)

Okay then.

Not really accurate.  The Devils are now 10-6-0 in their last 16 GP, and their losses in that stretch have come against the Blue Jackets, Wild, Panthers, Hurricanes, Golden Knights, and Jets.

Also fair to keep in mind that the Hurricanes were still kind of in WC contention at the time, and their win over the Devils came after a win against the Flyers...that turned out to be their last gasp, as they've followed those wins up with losses in five of six.  But it's not like the Devils have been piling up losses against bottom-feeders lately.  And they've already won three games on a trip that the especially Negative Nancies thought had a good chance to be winless.
