Shero went with long term up side. Patrick probably will have a quicker impact on his team.. let's all not flip out over it.
Jimmy Leeds
Yeah, they were actually talking right after the pick about f he needed more seasoning before making the jump. I was like, "WTF"?

aylbert
Quote Hynes said both Hischier and Nolan Patrick, who went No. 2 to the Flyers, were “good players” and added while the perception of Patrick’s game is it might be “a little bit more mature at this time,” Hynes said while the Devils did their research, “we didn’t necessarily feel that way.” “Nico just seemed like he was the right fit on and off the ice for us,” Hynes said. http://www.northjersey.com/story/sports/nhl/devils/fireandice/2017/06/24/devils-day-2-nhl-draft/426000001/ Not to read *too* much into Nolan Patrick; but I'm beginning to believe more that he and the Devils were not a good fit relationship wise. But; Patrick was clearly disappointed not to be the 1OA.

NJDevils1214
Guys, Patrick will totally enjoy working in Philly...when they are cursing his name and throwing sh!t at him because he missed a pass or something. Because that's just what most scumbag Philthy fans do.

Oh good, his first exposure to New Jersey is a major professional sports franchise that plays in the state and identifies as New York. What a great impression.

While I'm with your sentiment entirely, but let's not brand this kid as a Crosby or a McDavid, or franchise turnaround savior until we see him puck or two in the net in an NJ Jersey.Sent from my C6725 using Tapatalk

Antiquated Colorado Rockie
I like it, I was a Nico guy. I like that he is dynamic and seems to have some explosiveness to his skating, like a guy that can keep up with Hall. I think one factor was that his style fits well with the vision of the team. Jerzey
I know I'm showing my age with this one but the media guys should use audio of Pam Grier in Above the Law saying "Nico!". Some good sound bites there. Or more recent they could play off of, "Nico, this is your cousin. Let's go bowling".
