Lots and lots. So sure, Pietrangelo, Doughty, Provorov, Suter, Lindholm, and Hedman went in the top 10, but Letang, Subban, Weber, Karlsson, Gostisbehere, McDonagh, Chara, Parayko were not. I wonder if we're already seeing some kind of correction to that in the sense that fewer and fewer defenseman drafted outside of say the top 20 are going to be legit top pairing guys. Even without hindsight, guys like Gudbrandson, Ryan Murray, and Dylan McIlrath are 100 percent not going to be drafted in the top ten and two of them probably not in the first or even second round. But you are correct that a team does not need to tank to get a really good defenseman in the draft, although you do have to be pretty lucky to select the right one. Its hard either way, drafting top quality Defenseman is a crap shoot.. so many top 15 turn out to be, Eh.... and they take 4 years to see what you have. wheres our joshi, faulk? carlson? Everyone keeps talking about Johansson and his potential return (and of course Schneider), but Gibbons hardly ever gets mentioned... is there a timetable for his return?
