Daniel
Not really superstitious, but these European games have been kind of a kiss of death for teams that play in them if I recall.
jagknife
i'm a little surprised we were picked, but then I remembered Bratt and Hischier

I love how these things get started. I had no idea what teams' records were, but I did know that Ottawa complained about it this season - 4 Stanley Cup winners in a row played in Europe at the beginning of the NHL season - the 09 Penguins, 10 Blackhawks, 11 Bruins, and 12 Kings.
Satans Hockey
Meh means nothing to me except that it will probably be Devils "home games" too and they won't properly credit us back for the games we won't have just like they did with that preseason game at west point this season. LittleBallofHate
Full tweet from LeBrun below but it's 1 exhibition game at the end of camp in Switzerland for us and then one regular season game to open the season (tbd whether it's a home game for us or EDM) in Sweden. Pierre LeBrunVerified account @PierreVLeBrun News from Board of Governors meeting today: confirmed teams for Europe next season: Edmonton-NJ play regular season game in Sweden at start of season. Oilers will play an exhibition game at the end of camp in Germany (Draisaitl) while Devils will play one in Switzerland (Hischier).
Satans Hockey
I'd be shocked if it wasn't a "home game" for us, Edmonton sells out, we don't.
hrasvalg
I like it a lot. Live on the other side of Sweden but will make the trip. Only bad thing is I have to buy a new jersey, the one I have is having a traitor name on it

thecoffeecake
Fuuuuuck, I'll be in Europe just in time to not catch this. I've always wanted to go Sweden. Even if my trip overlapped, I'd have a difficult time convincing my girlfriend to divert her first Europe trip for sports. I'm lucky I can get her to Newark once a year. Yeah I’m pretty sure that wasn’t part of the European vacation she had in her head.
DevsMan84
I once took a trip through Scandanavia once. It was a tour of all the countries there and visited Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Oslo, Stockholm, Turku, Helsinki and St. Petersburg, Russia. Sorry to say this, but out of all of those Stockholm was my least favorite city.
EdgeControl
this makes so much more sense that the NFL in london or germany.. hockey is in their DNA,, do you swedes have a real NHL rink or just those oversized football fields with ice LOL and no advertising on the jerseys please Edited January 29, 2018 by EdgeControl
NJDfan1711
Kinda cool I guess. I hate when football does this because there's so few games already, that they don't need to be sending 1 of 8 overseas somewhere. But out of 41 home games? Sure, why not, put one overseas. I just hope we win it.
